Removal of sanctions likely in 4-6 months

TEHRAN, Jul. 28 (MNA) – Iran’s senior nuclear negotiator has told a meeting of Iranian Chamber of Commerce the current problems Iranian economy is through has been totally unnecessary.

Majid Takht-Ravanchi attended a meeting of private sector economic activists and Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, Mines, Industry and Agriculture, called ‘Post Sanctions Forum’ on Tuesday in Tehran where he ensured the meeting that with the wrap-up of nuclear negotiations which resulted in a deal, Iran’s current nuclear activities had not come to an end; “however, despite the UN’s subsequent resolutions seeking to suspend and stop nuclear program, we have always rejected suspending or ending the program even for a single day and will not do so as well in the future,” he added.

“To free the economy from the yoke of sanctions, we recognized some restrictions which are mainly formal and with the time of restrictions ending, Iran’s dossier will become a usual dossier, and after 8 years, we would run again our centrifuges to resume commercialization of our nuclear program,” Takht-Ravanchi told the meeting. “The [implementation] of nuclear agreement is time-intensive; our R and D will continue even in the time when restrictions are in place, where our two IR6 and IR8 machines will be worked to reach commercial level productivity, and by the end of the restriction time, IR6 and IR8 will be productive respectively 8 and 10 times more than IR1 machine,” he detailed.

“In Natanz, it is agreed that 5060 centrifuges will operate, with additional 1044 centrifuges in Fordow, albeit with 370 centrifuges without UF6 gas injection; Fordow is currently operating as a nuclear technology center active in producing stable isotope with Russian collaboration; we have also retained Arak heavy water complex however in reconstructed format,” Takht-Ravanchi told the meeting. “The UN Security Council’s resolution will be the last resolution; we have worked out a road map to totally wrap up Iran’s nuclear dossier in the UN; on the day of implementing the resolution provisions, all sanctions financial operations, insurance, banking swift transfer, oil and gas, petrochemical industry, valuable metals, shipping and transportation will be removed,” he said.

“The US officials are also assigned with revoking all export restrictions on plane chartering and sale, and imports of Iran’s pistachio, carpet and caviar; if a final arrangement is signed, countries will have 2-3 months to legalize the path set by the deal; with taking into account also time for hidden actions necessary, it is estimated that only by 4 or 6 months later would the actually removing of sanctions be realized, when Iran will face no restrictions in banking, insurance, etc.,” he detailed.
